Who We Are ?
We are a team of ambitious and passionate young professionals from the manufacturing industry who turned a simple dream into a real-life success story now known as Smart Bag.
From a modest workshop to one of Egypt’s leading non-woven bag manufacturers, we continue to grow with innovation, dedication, and a commitment to quality and sustainability.
How did this all unfold?
Developement Path
Our story began in a small basement workshop with just 10 passionate individuals, 6 manual Singer sewing machines, and a single silk screen printer. With limited resources but limitless ambition, Smart Bag took its first steps into the manufacturing world.
Outcome: Achieved a daily production of 1,500 bags, laying the foundation for future growth.
We established the Smart Bag Headquarters, ending our subcontracting phase and proudly introducing our own brand to the market. This was the true beginning of Smart Bag’s independent journey.
To meet rising demand, we expanded into a 900 sqm four-story facility featuring two production workshops, a warehouse, and management offices. The number of sewing machines grew from 6 to 20, and our team expanded to 30 members.
Outcome: Daily production rose to 7,000 bags, reaching customers across Egypt’s major cities.
We transitioned into a 1,600 sqm factory, launching our first automated production line (ONLX1) and introducing five new product models. With the addition of a 4-color Flexo printer and more production lines, Smart Bag entered a new industrial phase.
With 100 machines and 130 employees, production climbed from 13,000 to 40,000 bags daily, and by 2020, with our fourth line, capacity reached 70,000 bags per day.
Outcome: Smart Bag evolved into a large-scale, technology-driven manufacturer with a strong national presence.
We reached a major milestone by entering international markets and achieving a record of 100,000 bags per day. All production lines were relocated to a 6,000 sqm modern factory, creating a more efficient and centralized workflow.
We also installed our first Non-Woven Fabric Making Machine, allowing full in-house raw material production and reducing reliance on suppliers. The previous factory was repurposed for stitching and manual operations to enhance specialization.
Outcome: Achieved complete vertical integration, reduced costs, improved production control, and strengthened our position in both local and global markets.
Upgraded the Printing Department with new automated machines for faster and higher-quality output.
Enhanced design capabilities to better support custom orders.
Outcome: Monthly production exceeded 3,000,000 bags, strengthening our position in local and international markets.
Expanded our team to nearly 300 employees, reinforcing specialization across all departments.
Continued to create meaningful job opportunities for youth, contributing positively to society.
Outcome: Complete vertical integration with strong production control, enabling Smart Bag to meet both local and international demands with reliability and quality.
